Like blatent racism in your comedy?
Well...Fox News has the show for you! The 1/2 Hour News Hour (who ripped it's name off from a sketch comedy show) is Fox's pathetic answer to the high-brow comedy of The Daily Show. This clip is a rip-off of SNL's sketch on Barack Obama. They took a funny sketch and reduced it to fart jokes, basically proving further that Republicans are not funny. I warn you...this "comedy" will make you throw up in your mouth a little.

That was awful. But I do love that they really have nothing worthy of valid criticism thus far. The way they play the "race card" is certainly disturbing, but I'm really hoping that there are enough people out there that will prove race shouldn't be (and perhaps finally isn't) a negative factor in political campaigns.
Wow, that's really amazingly not funny.
What I love about the Daily Show in the age of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld is that Jon Stewart doesn't actually have to say anything for it to be hilarious. They just collect video clips, and sometime juxapose different ones, and the result is hysterical because these people are LUNATICS. You can either laugh or cry, but none of it is of Stewart's creation.
The buzz going for this show thus far is basically "wow, this is awful" and that kinda makes me smile in my sleep.
And I think Stewart's delivery really adds to the humor in The Daily Show. I believe he's got a hand in the skits and clips as well. Then again I would marry him at the drop of a hat.
if all the hoopla over the Super Bowl is any indication (the first black coach stuff), this country has yet to reach the point where race will not matter.
In some ways, all that went on in New Orleans should serve as a cautionary tale on that score.
I do think Obama has gone a long way to defusing a lot of trouble by being right up front about all of his youthful errors. And who among us made none?
its going to be a loooonnnngggg political season
What those on the right fail to realize is that The Daily Show takes pokes at the media and our so-called "culture" as well as at politics. And they absolutely skewered Clinton while he was in office, but these folks conveniently forget that. On his memmorable appearance on Crossfire - Crossfire was canceled not long after this - Tucker Carlson asked Jon Stewart if he would go after a Democratic administration as much as he has this current one, and the response was to the effect of "Sure, if it's anywhere as close to absurd as this one."
TDS's history shows it to be willing and able to take on anything it finds it can satirize. They had a lot of fun ripping the
"media" for its ridiculous coverage of Anna Nicole Smith's death; TDS called their story "Death of a Person" just to show how ridiculous it all was.
That said, I can't watch anything Fox News shows, and I certainly won't be watching their little "comedy" show. Racism and insults aren't "comedy", AFAIC.
